Flash Ventures today announced its official launch as a venture studio co-building B2B startups in finance, insurance, and health.
Founded by Jelena Petrovic, Alexander Martynov, and Bojan Milenkovic, Flash Ventures builds on their combined experience in startup acceleration, entrepreneurship, and venture capital. Collectively, the co-founders have worked with more than 500 early-stage startups, gaining experience in the earliest stages of company building - from problem validation and customer discovery to building the product, gaining market traction and securing the first investment.
Alongside the founding partners, the team is complemented by three engineering partners, each holding senior technology leadership roles and bringing 20+ years of experience in the tech industry. They contribute directly to Flash Ventures’ engineering and product building capacity, by providing technical oversight, feasibility assessment, and hands-on development support.
The studio has closed its first funding round of €550,000, backed by a group of international angel investors who share the studio’s belief in a more systematic approach to venture creation and the market opportunity that Flash Ventures’ model brings. The capital will be used to co-build the studio’s first portfolio of ventures together with founders from emerging startup ecosystems in Europe.
“We believe there is a significant pool of untapped talent and deep industry expertise that could be turned into new ventures, but these people often lack access to the right operating model and resources needed to build a startup from zero. Flash Ventures was born because we wanted to take what we learned from working with hundreds of startups and become the kind of co-founder we would want by our side: bringing experience, hands-on execution and speed in the most critical stage of building a company,” says Jelena Petrovic, co-founder of Flash Ventures.
Flash Ventures operates under an equity-based model, ensuring that interests are aligned with the founders, and that the studio shares the same level of commitment and ownership. This makes its approach fundamentally different from both traditional accelerators that run fixed programs and early-stage funds that make direct investments. The studio joins the startup in the role of a co-founding partner - validating the market opportunity, building the first product, and managing the fundraising process alongside founders until the first round is closed and the company is ready to scale independently.
The studio’s initial focus is B2B opportunities in finance, insurance, and health - large industries with significant potential for market disruption, but where the path from market insight to the first paying customer is more complex than in other SaaS industries.
